At Boundary Expeditions, we love everything about the river – including fishing! The Middle Fork of the Salmon River is the home to the healthiest all-wild (non-stocked/native) trout populations in the west. So, whether you’re an avid fly fisher or just a beginner, we recommend trying your luck during your rafting trip.
We offer gear packages and custom fly boxes too. If you’re bringing your own gear, for dry flies we recommend black ants, elk hair caddis, Royal wulff attractor flies and a wide variety of hoppers. When the weather is hot, the cutthroat trout love to hit the hoppers all day long!
If you’re nymph fishing, we recommend having imitations for mayflies, stoneflies and caddis flies. All fishing is catch and release. But don’t worry; we’ll make you dinner.
