FLY FISHING

At Boundary Expeditions, we love everything about the river – including fishing! The Middle Fork of the Salmon River is home to the healthiest all-wild (non-stocked/native) trout populations in the west. So, whether you’re an avid fly fisher or just a beginner, we recommend trying your luck during your rafting trip.

We offer gear packages and custom fly boxes too. If you’re bringing your own gear, for dry flies we recommend black ants, elk hair caddis, Royal Wulff, orange stimulators, and a wide variety of hoppers. On hot August afternoons, the cutthroat trout love those hoppers!

If you’re nymph fishing, we recommend mayfly, stonefly, and caddis imitations. All fishing is single, barbless catch and release. But don’t worry; we’ll make you dinner.
